Water backup of sewer or drains
Normally, damage caused by water backup or drains isn’t covered by renters insurance. But you can add it to the tune of $2,500 for each “occurrence” ($5,000 in North Carolina) within only a $250 deductible.
Available for California and Washington renters, this option pays for damage to your personal property as a result of an earthquake. When selected, the benefit amount is equal to the personal property limit with a deductible of 15% of the amount of personal property coverage selected.
