QWhat is Travel Insurance?

Travel Insurance helps protect your trip costs by providing benefits for specific events that occur before or during your trip.

QWhy do I need Travel Insurance?

Traveling can be a major investment in our lives, and as much as we want our travel to go off without a hitch, we all know that sometimes unforeseen “life happens” events cause us to have to cancel or reschedule our trips. Illness, accidents, job loss, snow storms, hurricanes and earthquakes; these are just a few examples that may result in us canceling or rescheduling a trip. If you are on vacation, what if you have an accident or major medical emergency that requires medical attention, or even emergency evacuation? Travel Insurance allows us the total peace of mind in knowing that when unforeseen “life happens” events occur, the coverage necessary to protect our non refundable, prepaid and unused expenses is available.

QWhat does our Travel Insurance cover?

Be sure to review your plan documents for specific coverage levels, limitations and exclusions; but generally, our Travel Insurance helps protect you when certain unforeseen problems arise that prevent you from going on vacation, cause you to reschedule your trip, cause travel interruption, or lead to the loss/delay of your baggage. Our coverage also helps protect you in event of accident, illness and medical emergency while on vacation.

QWhat does Travel Insurance cost?

Your cost will depend on factors such as the type of coverage requested, the age of travelers, and length of stay. Start the free and easy quote process for more specific information concerning the cost of insuring your trip.

QDo your Travel Insurance Plans include 24-Hour Emergency Assistance?

Yes, during your trip, a 24-Hour emergency hotline is available to assist you with various travel needs, including medical and legal referrals, emergency cash transfers, translation services and more. If the unexpected occurs, our customer service representatives will assist you with any claims forms needed, as well as provide you with individualized attention. Upon receipt of your completed claims forms, a dedicated claims agent will be assigned specifically to your case upon your return.

QWhat are my payment options?

Payments to purchase a plan may be made by credit card (VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover), debit card or PayPal.

QWhen can I buy coverage?

Trip Cancellation begins before you leave on your trip, so the earlier you purchase travel insurance, the sooner you are covered. 

QWhen is the latest I can buy Travel Insurance?

Customers can purchase up to the day before departure.

QWhat is a foreseeable event?

Foreseeable simply means reasonably known beforehand. Once it is reasonable that people traveling to an area would know about an event, it becomes foreseeable. For example, if the airline you are flying announces that they are going on strike, the event becomes foreseeable once they make the announcement.

QIs it possible to insure pre-existing medical conditions?*

What is a Pre-Existing Medical Condition?

A Pre-Existing Medical Condition is an illness, disease, or other condition during the 60-day period immediately prior to your effective date for which you or your traveling companion or family member who is scheduled or booked to travel with you:

  1. received, or received a recommendation for, a diagnostic test, examination or medical treatment; or
  2. took or received prescription drugs or medicine**

How does Protect Your Bubble cover Pre-Existing Medical Conditions?

Yes, on our Deluxe and Multi-trip plans we can accept pre-existing medical conditions for you, your traveling companions and traveling family members. Moreover, we offer customers the flexibility to cover pre-existing conditions up to final payment. Pre-existing medical conditions are accepted with most of our plans when you meet two requirements. First, you must not be disabled from travel when you buy the Travel Protection. Second, you must purchase the Travel Protection prior to or within 24 hours of your final payment.


*Pre-existing medical conditions are not covered for Indiana residents. 
**This does not apply to a condition which is treated or controlled solely through the taking of prescription drugs or medicine and remains treated or controlled without any adjustment or change in the required prescription throughout the 60-day period before coverage is in effect under the Policy.

QCan my traveling companions and I be insured on the same plan?

Yes. However, note that some benefits are subject to policy maximums. If there are more than 10 travelers, or if you need additional coverage limits, we recommend purchasing additional policies. If the total trip cost is not equally shared by travelers, you may want to consider purchasing different policies.

QMay I add coverage to my plan after I purchase it?

Yes. If you purchase additional arrangements prior to your departure date, a simple phone call to customer service (855-PYB-TRIP) will allow you to add coverage. Should you need to extend the dates for your trip, you may do so by calling us prior to your scheduled return date. The feature is available on our Basic and Deluxe Plans. 

QWhat if I change my mind?

If you purchase this plan and are not satisfied within 14 days of receipt, contact us directly, in writing, to indicate your desire to cancel. If you haven't already left on your trip or filed a claim, you will receive a complete refund.

QI understand that I have an optional cancel for any reason coverage available to me on the Deluxe Plan. How does that work and what percentage of my trip costs will be reimbursed if I do?

"Cancel for any reason" is an optional coverage offered on the Deluxe Plan. "Cancel for any reason"* is built to protect your pre-paid, non-refundable trip costs, such as cruise packages, tours and side trips against possible cancellations for any reason. Cancel for any reason covers up to 75% of your non-refundable trip cost.

If only certain members of your group must cancel, "trip cancellation" benefits are provided for covered reasons defined in the plan.

*"Cancel for any reason" is not available to New York residents. 

QHow does your no "out-of-pocket" service work?

Our Deluxe plan and Multi-Trip plan offer to help with the service and payment of acute medical treatment that you may incur while on your trip. If needed, you can call our 24-hour assistance hotline to obtain the name of a local qualified physician within our assistance provider’s network. Our assistance provider can guarantee payment to that provider for expenses up to $1,000.

QWhen do I file my claim?

Claims must be submitted within 20 days after covered loss occurs, or as soon as reasonably possible.

QHow can I get a copy of my plan?

You can always view your Description of Coverage and Policy by State by logging into MyBubble. Simply log into your account and select “View Plan”. You can also contact our Customer Support Center and someone can ensure you receive a copy of your state-specific plan details.

QHow often can I travel on my Multi-trip Travel Insurance Plan?

The plan lasts for the complete 12 months, and you can take four trips within that timeframe.

QWhat is included with Concierge Services?

This service includes assistance with rental car reservations, airline reservations, hotel accommodations, pet services locator, restaurant reviews and reservations, event ticketing, city profiles, epicurean needs, flowers and gift baskets, golf outing and tee times, meet-and-greet services, personalized retail shopping assistance, pre-trip assistance and more!

Any costs associated with concierge services will be billed separately from your policy.
